BAKED & GLAZED RIB FILLET OF BEEF

Meat:
1 whole rib fillet or striploin of beef
Beef Rub:
2 tsp Chinese Five Spice
2 tsp ground pepper
Glaze:
2 tbs dark soy sauce
1 tbs sesame oil
- Preheat oven to 150°. A low oven temperature will help prevent too much shrinkage of the cut.
- Wipe beef with paper towel to remove any moisture.
- Mix together Chinese Five Spice and Ground pepper, rub on meat.
- Mix together Dark Soy sauce and Sesame oil and brush over meat.
- Place glazed whole fillet on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Bake uncovered in oven, basting often until cooked.
- Cook for approx. 15 -20 minutes per 500 grams of meat
- Remove from oven, cover with foil and allow to rest in a warm place for 5 minutes before carving.
